TIE starfighter

Almost certainly the most numerous starfighter in the galaxy ,the standard TIE Starfighter by Sienar Fleet Systems was the mainstay of the Imperial Fleet throughout the Rebellion. Unlike Rebel ships, the TIE series did not have pressurised cockpits. Instead pilots had to wear bulky pressure suits which, although saving weight and increasing fighter performance, made the pilots job more difficult. One of the most modified starfighters in use, there are several standard versions. The TIE/rc was lightly armed but had upgraded sensors for reconnaissance, the TIE/fc used laser marking guns to provide fire control for larger ships, and the TIE/gt was fitted with missiles and bombs (before the introduction of the TIE bomber). However the most common variant was the TIE/ln which was designed as a space- superiority starfighter with two chin-mounted SFS L-s1 Laser Cannons. No TIE Starfighters were fitted with shields, relying instead on speed and manoeuvrability. The large solar panels gave power for the SFS P-s4 Twin Ion Engines, but reduced visibility and made the TIE Starfighter very difficult to fly in an atmosphere. To save weight none of the TIE series had repulsorlift engines, nor did they have landing gear. Instead TIEs were carried on racks prior to launch and on their return repulsor fields were used to catch the incoming ships and guide them to the fighter bays. TIEs did not fair well in one-to-one combat with shielded rebel ships, instead relying on superior numbers.

TIE Bomber

Before the TIE Bomber was introduced by Sienar Fleet Systems the Fleet had to rely on full-scale bombardment to attack large targets. With its unusual double hull design, this fighter / bomber carries a large load of proton torpedoes and Concussion Missiles fired with surgical precision by two SFS M-s3 Concussion Missile Launchers and two SFS T-s5 Proton Torpedo Launchers. While not a proper starfighter, the TIE Bomber can hold its own in ship-to-ship combat with its two wing mounted SFS L-s1 Laser Cannons. Common tactics is to use the ships small size to slip past escorts in order to lie in wait for larger ships.

TIE Interceptor

Before the introduction of the Rebel A-wing, the TIE Interceptor was the fastest starfighter in existence. The ship was developed from the TIE/ln and was based on the prototype flown by Darth Vader at the Battle of Yavin. Designed, as the name implies, as an interceptor and space-superiority fighter the ship has four SFS L-s9.3 Laser Cannons, placed on the points of the wings for a greater spread of firepower. Unshielded and without a hyperdrive, the TIE Interceptor relies on its speed and manoeuvrability for defence. For extra power the area of the solar panels was increased compared to the standard TIE/ln, however in the prototype this restricted visibility. The problem was solved by the distinctive dagger shaped front panels allowing better sideways visibility. The TIE Interceptor, like most TIE marks was designed to be used in large numbers, as a small squadron of unshielded fighters would not fair well against a similar number of shielded rebel starfighters.

TIE Advanced

The TIE/Ad (for Advanced) was developed from and built to replace the TIE Interceptor by Sienar Fleet Systems. Based on suggestions by Lord Darth Vader, the starfighter was the first in the TIE series to feature shields and a Hyperdrive motovator. The Twin Ion Engines (from which the TIE series get their name) give the TIE/Ad excellent speed and manoeuvrability - so much so that the pilots have already nicknamed the ship the TIE Avenger (to avenge the defeat at the Battle of Yavin). It is the most heavily armed TIE Fighter to date with four SFS L-s9.3 Laser Cannons mounted on the tips of the bent wings and two SFS M-g-2 General Purpose Warhead launchers. This weaponry makes the TIE/Ad more than a match for any Rebel starfighter currently in existence.

TIE Defender

The TIE defender was made by Sienar Fleet Systems , it had a SFS P-sz9.7 engine. With two SFS L-s1 laser Cannons, two Ion Cannons and Tractor Beam it was one of the Empires best fighters.

Star Destroyer

The Stardestroyer was built by Kuat Drive Yards and its full name was Imperial I Star Destroyer. It had a length of 1600 meters and a crew on at least 5000 men, but could hold up to 37,085 men. It was armed with: -60 Laser Cannons -60 Ion Cannons -10 Tractor Beam Projectors Other Squadrons: -72 TIE Fighters -Stormtrooper division -20 AT-AT Walkers -30 AT-ST Walkers

Caracters

Darth Vader

Darth Vader epitomized the Emperor's New Order. Standing two meters tall and dressed in flowing black robes and black body armor, Vader was a tangibly evil symbol of the Emperor's doctrine of rule through fear and terror. Vader was once Anakin Skywalker, expert pilot and disciple of Obi-Wan Kenobi. He had been a Jedi Knight waging the battle of the light side of the Force. Impatient with the slow learning method of Kenobi and the Jedi, Anakin turned toward Palpatine and was drawn by the power of the dark side. Kenobi tried to dissuade Anakin and draw him back. Corrupted and seduced by the dark side, Anakin would soon come to be known as the dreaded Darth Vader.

Emperor Palpatine

As a Senator in the Old Republic, Palpatine was a seemingly unassuming man serving during a time of corruption, social injustice, and bureaucratic abuses. However, when Palpatine was chosen as a figurehead, his true nature as a power-hungry tyrant became apparent when he introduced the New Order and declared himself Emperor. Nobody knows how the Emperor gained mastery of the dark side of the Force, but it was through his influence that the Jedi Anakin Skywalker became the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader.

Grand Moff Tarkin

Formerly Governor of the Seswenna Sector, Tarkin came to importance with Emperor Palpatine's rise to power. Tarkin's philosophy came from the Doctrine of the Imperial Navy, which was "Rule through the fear of the force, rather than the force itself." This Doctrine led to his major project, the Death Star. The Emperor was quick to see the Death Star's possibilities, and authorized the station's construction. Though Tarkin was able to bring the Death Star to completion, his failure lay in the fact that he was unable to threaten the valiant Princess Leia into giving up the secret location of the Rebel fleet, thus leading to the destruction of the Death Star.

Planets

Death Star

Designed and constructed in secret, the Death Star was to be the symbol of the Emperor's power and the ultimate weapon. Once the battle station was fully operational, the Emperor ordered the Imperial Senate disbanded and declared that the Empire would keep local star systems in line through their fear of the Death Star and the Imperial fleet. Though the Death Star showed its relentless power by destroying the peaceful planet Alderaan, Rebel agents were able to discover an exploitable weakness in the stolen plans. The Battle of Yavin ended with the destruction of the Death Star.
